Overnight Closures of Northbound I-25 and Cimarron Street/US 24 Start May 30
Travel Advisory
Colorado Springs—From 9 p.m. - 5 a.m. each night/morning of Tuesday, May 30 through Thursday, June 1, northbound I-25 will be closed between Nevada Avenue/Tejon and US 24/Cimarron Street as crews repair the road. If weather or other delays occur, work may also be completed the night of Friday, June 2.
Traffic Impacts
- Detour:
Northbound Nevada Avenue to westbound Cimarron Street, back to I-25
- Week of June 4:Crews will pave southbound I-25. (Look for an update as this work approaches.)
- 9 p.m. - 5 a.m. each night/morning of Tuesday, May 30 through Thursday, June 1:
Crews will close both directions of US 24/Cimarron Street between the northbound and southbound I-25 ramps for bridge work.- Friday night, June 2 is a contingency date.
- Drivers will use Bijou Street and Nevada Avenue/Tejon as alternate routes.
Please keep in mind this work is weather dependent and subject to change.
Slow Down and Pay Attention
- Speed-limit reductions: 55 mph on I-25 between Colorado Avenue and south Nevada Avenue/Tejon Street, and 30 mph on US 24/Cimarron Street between 8th Street and I-25
- Pay close attention when driving near the I-25/Cimarron Project.
- Slow down, observe speed limits, avoid distractions, and allow extra time for your commute.
- An alternative route is advised.

The I-25/Cimarron project is an active construction area. Access on the project site is restricted unless accompanied by a CDOT or Kraemer representative. Your safety is important to us; please coordinate access requests in advance with the project team. A safe area for interviews, b-roll, etc., and a project team member will be designated for escort, and will coordinate the appropriate personal protective equipment. We appreciate your cooperation.
