Correction: Northbound I-25 Right Lane Closure Over Gruma Drive May 18-19

PUEBLO—From 5 a.m. Thursday, May 18 through the afternoon of Friday, May 19, CDOT will temporarily close the right lane of northbound I-25, between Ilex/Exit 98A to City Center Drive/Exit 98B. This closure is necessary to provide a safe work zone as crews set girders on the I-25 Bridge over Gruma Drive.

During the closure, crews also will study traffic impacts to determine future lane closure options necessary for accelerating construction activities on the I-25/Ilex Design-Build Project.

Traffic Impacts

• Speeds will be reduced to 45 mph.
• Expect traffic delays.
• Consider alternate routes and use extra caution while traveling in the new traffic pattern.

Project Info

The I-25 Ilex Street to City Center Drive project is the first project of the New Pueblo Freeway (the reconstruction of I-25 between City Center Drive (1st Street) and Ilex Street through downtown Pueblo). Construction includes upgrading several bridges south of downtown. The project began in July 2015 and is expected to be completed in 2018.
