Barrier Work on West Side of I-70 Vail Pass Continues
EAGLE COUNTY—Crews have resumed construction to replace barriers and bridge rails near Vail on the west side of Interstate 70 Vail Pass.
Project work begins at mile post (MP) 180 and extends approximately six miles to MP 186. Work began on this project in June 2016 and is scheduled to be complete by fall 2017.
Travel Impacts
- Expect intermittent eastbound and westbound single-lane closures, and possible minor traffic delays through the area during road improvements.
- Construction will take place during daylight hours, Monday through Thursday. There is no night or weekend work planned.
- Speeds will be reduced to 45 mph through the work zone.
- There will be an 11-foot width restriction in place during working hours.
