Upcoming Rock Work on Highways 50 & 69
March 17, 2017 - Southeastern Colorado/CDOT Region 2 - FREMONT COUNTY — The Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) will be conducting rock scaling operations along U.S. 50, west of Cañon City, for the next two weeks, requiring several traffic stops each day.
Beginning on Monday, March 21, and continuing through Friday, March 24, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., CDOT will be removing loose rocks and other debris along Highway 50 between State Highway 9 near Parkdale and State Highway 69 in Texas Creek. Scaling work also is set to take place along a one-mile segment of SH 69, just south of U.S. 50. Drivers should anticipate stops up to 20 minutes.
CDOT will resume rock scaling operations in that area during the same hours the following week – Monday, March 27, through Friday, March 31.
The traffic stops are necessary to maintain safety for the traveling public.
