Traffic Signal Operations Begin Monday on East 4th Street
PUEBLO—From 8:30 p.m. on Monday, March 13 to 5:30 a.m. on Tuesday, March 14, motorists will experience traffic impacts and potential delays on Colorado 96 (4th Street), between Bradford and Erie. A similar closure will be in place from 8:30 p.m. on Sunday March 19 through 5:30 a.m. on Monday, March 20, on 4th Street between Albany and Erie as crews replace traffic signals.
Crews on Monday will be working overnight to replace traffic signals at East 4th Street and Chester. A signed detour will be in place routing traffic to 8th Street via Hudson and Santa Fe streets. Pedestrians will be able to cross over the 4th Street Fountain Creek Bridge without interruption.
Starting Tuesday March 14 and continuing through March, the northbound lanes at the intersection of East 4th Street and Bradford to the I-25 on-ramp will be closed from 7 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. each day. From 7 a.m. - 5 p.m. during this period, the southbound lanes of Bradford will also be closed as crews install new traffic lights and crosswalk lights. Detours will be signed. Westbound traffic on 4th Street will be routed at Albany to 5th street to the ramp for I-25 north, while eastbound 4th Street traffic will be routed at Chester south to City Center Drive.

About the Project
This work is part of the $10 million, Colorado 96 (4th Street) improvement project, which includes intersection improvements, signal replacement, resurfacing, and bridge rehabilitation. Work began in July and will improve surface quality, enhance safety, and provide improved pedestrian crossings—including upgrading ADA ramps to current standards. The project is scheduled to be complete by the end of 2017.
