Full Overnight Closure of US 24/Cimarron Street and I-25 On- and Off-Ramps

COLORADO SPRINGS—The Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) will require a full overnight closure of US 24/Cimarron Street, the I-25 on- and off-ramps and northbound I-25 beginning Monday, March 6. These closures include:
Full Overnight Closure of Cimarron Street/US 24 and I-25 on- and off-Ramps
From 9 p.m., Monday, March 6 to 5 a.m., Tuesday, March 7, there will be a full overnight closure of US 24/Cimarron Street (between Sierra Madre and 8th streets)—and I-25 on- and off-ramps—to shift traffic on to new concrete pavement. Drivers should watch for a change in traffic alignment in place early Tuesday morning, March 7.
Please follow detour signs:
- Motorists traveling eastbound on US 24/Cimarron Street will take 8th Street, head east on Colorado Avenue, north on Nevada Avenue and take Bijou west to I-25.
- Motorists traveling westbound on US 24/Cimarron Street will go north on Nevada Avenue, west on Colorado Avenue to Limit Street back to US 24/Cimarron Street.
Overnight Lane Restrictions
From 7 p.m. - 5 a.m. each night/morning of Monday, Mar. 6 and Tuesday, Mar. 7, there will be single left lane restrictions on southbound and northbound I-25 between US 24/Cimarron Street and Tejon Street/Nevada Avenue for median work.
Full Overnight Closure of Northbound I-25 Off-Ramp
From 9 p.m., Tuesday, March 7 to 5 a.m., Wednesday, March 8, the northbound I-25 off ramp to US 24/Cimarron Street will be closed for drainage work.
- Detour: Bijou Street to southbound I-25 to US 24/Cimarron Street
Full Overnight Closure of Northbound I-25
From 9 p.m., Wednesday, March 8 to 5 a.m., Thursday, March 9, northbound I-25 (Tejon Street/Nevada Avenue to US 24/Cimarron Street) will be closed for a minor northbound I-25 traffic shift.
- Detour: Go north on Nevada Avenue and head west on Cimarron Street to I-25.
- Thursday night, March 9, is a contingency date for various lane restrictions on northbound I-25 between Tejon Street/Nevada Avenue and US 24/Cimarron Street.
Drivers are Urged to Slow Down and Pay Attention
- Speeds are reduced to 55 mph on I-25 between Colorado Avenue and south Nevada Avenue/Tejon Street, and 30 mph speed reduction on US 24/Cimarron Street between 8th Street and I-25.
- Pay close attention when driving near the I-25/Cimarron Project. Slow down, observe speed limits, avoid distractions and allow extra time for your commute.
- An alternative route is advised.

The I-25/Cimarron project is an active construction area. Access on the project site is restricted unless accompanied by a CDOT or Kraemer representative. Your safety is important to us, so please coordinate access requests in advance with the project team. A safe area for interviews, b-roll, etc., and a project team member will be designated for escort and will coordinate the appropriate personal protective equipment. We appreciate your cooperation.
