Expect Full Closure Tonight of Southbound I-25 On-Ramp, Northbound I-25 and Eastbound US 24/Cimarron Street

COLORADO SPRINGS—The Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) will close northbound I-25, the southbound I-25 on-ramp and eastbound US 24/Cimarron Street tonight, March 8, for additional work. Please keep in mind that this work is weather dependent and subject to change.
Full Overnight Closure of the Southbound I-25 On-Ramp and Eastbound US 24/Cimarron Street
From 9 p.m., Wednesday, March 8 to 5 a.m., Thursday, March 9, the southbound I-25 on-ramp at US 24/Cimarron Street will be closed for roadway work.
- Detour: Go on northbound I-25 to Bijou Street, and back to southbound I-25.
- Starting at 7 p.m., eastbound US 24/Cimarron Street between 8th Street and I-25 will be closed.

Full Overnight Closure of Northbound I-25
From 9 p.m., Wednesday, March 8 to 5 a.m., Thursday, March 9, northbound I-25 (Tejon Street/Nevada Avenue to US 24/Cimarron Street) will be closed for a minor northbound I-25 traffic shift.
- Detour: Go north on Nevada Avenue and head west on Cimarron Street to I-25.
- Thursday night, March 9, is a contingency date for various lane restrictions on northbound I-25 between Tejon Street/Nevada Avenue and US 24/Cimarron Street.
Lane Restriction Westbound US 24 to Southbound I-25
The westbound US 24 left turn lane to Southbound I-25 will remain closed until 5 p.m., Friday, March 10. Please follow detour routes.
Drivers are Urged to Slow Down and Pay Attention
- Speeds are reduced to 55 mph on I-25 between Colorado Avenue and south Nevada Avenue/Tejon Street, and 30 mph speed reduction on US 24/Cimarron Street between 8th Street and I-25.
- Pay close attention when driving near the I-25/Cimarron Project. Slow down, observe speed limits, avoid distractions and allow extra time for your commute.
- An alternative route is advised.

The I-25/Cimarron project is an active construction area. Access on the project site is restricted unless accompanied by a CDOT or Kraemer representative. Your safety is important to us, so please coordinate access requests in advance with the project team. A safe area for interviews, b-roll, etc., and a project team member will be designated for escort and will coordinate the appropriate personal protective equipment. We appreciate your cooperation.
