Expect lane restrictions on northbound I-25

The I-25/Cimarron project is an active construction area. Access on the project site is restricted unless accompanied by a CDOT or Kraemer representative. Your safety is important to us, so please coordinate access requests in advance with the project team . A safe area for interviews, b-roll, etc., and a project team member will be designated for escort and will coordinate the appropriate Personal Protective Equipment. We appreciate your cooperation.


COLORADO SPRINGS—Starting tonight, crews will close the US 24/Cimarron Street northbound I-25 on- and off-ramps. There will also be lane restrictions on northbound I-25.

Closures include:

 Full Overnight Closure of US 24/Cimarron Street and Northbound I‐25 On‐ and Off‐ Ramps

  • From 9 p.m. Monday, March 27 to 5 a.m. Tuesday, March 28, the following locations will be closed as crews shift traffic onto new concrete pavement:
    • US 24/Cimarron Street, between Sierra Madre and I‐25; and
    • the northbound I‐25 on‐ and off‐ramps at US 24/Cimarron Street

    • Eastbound US 24/Cimarron Street traffic looking to go north on I-25: Take southbound I-25 to Nevada Avenue and back to northbound I-25, or take 8th Street, head east on Colorado Avenue back to Cimarron Street.
    • Westbound US 24/Cimarron Street traffic: Go north on Nevada Avenue to Bijou Street, or go west on Colorado Avenue to Limit Street, back to US 24.
    • Northbound I-25 traffic looking to exit at US 24/Cimarron Street will be directed to take the Nevada Avenue/Tejon exit.

    9 p.m. Tuesday, March 28 to 5 a.m. Wednesday, March 29

 Overnight Double Lane Restrictions on Northbound and Southbound I‐25

  • From 7 p.m. - 5 a.m., each night/morning of Monday, March 27 and Tuesday, March 28, there will be double right lane restrictions on northbound I-25 and a singlet left lane restruction on southbound I-25 between Bijou Street and Tejon Street/Nevada Avenue. Work includes a traffic realignment at the northbound I-25 ramps and median work. Various lane restrictions on southbound and northbound I-25 will be required Tuesday through Thursday nights as well.
    • Note: Single lane restrictions begin at 7 p.m.
    • Expect delays since there may be only one through lane open.

Drivers are urged to slow down and pay attention.

  • Speeds will be reduced to 55 mph on I-25 between Colorado Avenue and South Nevada Avenue/Tejon Street, and to 30 mph on US 24/Cimarron Street between 8th Street and I-25.
  • Pay close attention when driving near the I-25/Cimarron Project.
  • Slow down, observe speed limits, avoid distractions, and allow extra time for your commute.
  • An alternative route is advised.
