Crews to Close Northbound I-25 at US 24 and Nevada Avenue/Tejon Street Sunday Night
Travel Advisory
COLORADO SPRINGS—From 9 p.m. Sunday, June 4 through 5 a.m. Monday, June 5, crews will close northbound I-25 between Nevada Avenue/Tejon and US Highway 24/Cimarron Street (including the northbound I-25 off-ramp) to pave the road. Should this work need to be rescheduled, it will be done the night of Monday, June 5.
Detour
Take northbound Nevada Avenue to westbound US 24/Cimarron Street, back to I-25.
Traffic Impacts
- From 7 p.m. - 5 a.m. each night/morning from Monday, June 5 through Friday, June 9, expect various eastbound and westbound lane restrictions on US 24/Cimarron Street between 8th Street and South Sierra Madre Street for paving.
- There will be single- and double-lane restrictions on northbound and southbound I‐25 between Nevada Avenue/Tejon Street and US 24/Cimarron Street for paving:
- 7 p.m. - 5 a.m. each night/morning of Sunday, June 4 and Monday, June 5: Southbound I‐25 lane restrictions
- 7 p.m. Monday, June 5 to 5 a.m. Tuesday, June 6: Northbound I-25 lane restrictions
- Contingency dates: 7 p.m. - 5 a.m. each night/morning from Tuesday, June 6 through Thursday, June 8
- Expect delays; there may be only one through lane open.
Slow Down and Pay Attention
- Speed reductions to 55 mph on I-25 between Colorado Avenue and south Nevada Avenue/Tejon Street and 30 mph speed reduction on US 24/Cimarron Street between 8th Street and I-25
- Pay close attention when driving near the I-25/Cimarron project.
- Slow down, observe speed limits, avoid distractions and allow extra time for your commute.
- Alternative routes are advised.
Attention Media Personnel
The I-25/Cimarron project is an active construction area. Access on the project site is restricted unless accompanied by a CDOT or Kraemer representative. Your safety is important to us, so please coordinate access requests in advance with the project team. A safe area for interviews, b-roll, etc., and a project team member will be designated for escort, and will coordinate the appropriate personal protective equipment. We appreciate your cooperation.
