Crews to Close County Road 76 at US85 in Eaton July 7-10
US85 traffic will be unaffected
EATON – From 9 a.m. Friday, July 7, through 9 a.m. Monday, July 10, the Colorado Department of Transportation will close Weld County Road 76 (10th Street) to the east of the US Highway 85 intersection to improve the intersection as part of the project to improve US 85 from Eaton to Ault.
The west side of County Road 76 will remain open through the weekend, and motorists traveling northbound and southbound on US85 will not be affected.
Those who are impacted by the weekend closure will be detoured around the intersection. Suggested routes include using County Road 74 to the south, or Colorado Highway 14 to the north of the closure.
“The weekend closures are designed to impact the public as minimally as possible,” said Project Engineer Anthony Anderson. “This marks an important phase of the project, as we will be upgrading the roadway near one of the town’s designated railroad crossings.”
Other Traffic Impacts
- A 10-foot width restriction is in place.
- Speeds will be reduced to 25 mph in the active work zone.
- Please plan additional travel time for the detour
