Northern Avenue Bridge reduced to single lane with flagger July 20

July 17, 2017 - Southeastern Colorado/CDOT Region 2 - The Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) and contractor Flatiron Constructors, Inc. are closing one lane on Northern Avenue bridge over Interstate-25 from 8 p.m. Thursday, July 20 to 6 a.m. Friday, July 21.

A flagger will be in place to alternate eastbound and westbound traffic flow through the single lane. This temporary lane reduction is required to pour concrete on the Northern Avenue bridge.

Slight traffic delays are expected, speeds will be reduced to 25 MPH, and motorists are urged to use extra caution while traveling in the new traffic pattern.

PROJECT INFORMATION: The I-25 Ilex Street to City Center Drive project is the first project of the New Pueblo Freeway: the reconstruction of I-25 between City Center Drive (1st Street) and Ilex Street through downtown Pueblo. Construction includes upgrading several bridges south of downtown. The project began in July 2015, and is expected to be completed in 2018.
