Crews to Close I-70B off-ramp at US 6/North Avenue in Grand Junction July 24 - Aug. 1

All business access will remain open.


MESA COUNTY—
Beginning at 7 a.m. on Monday, July 24, crews will close the I-70B westbound off-ramp that leads to US 6/North Avenue eastbound as they complete work related to the I-70B/US 6 Interchange Improvements Project in Grand Junction. This configuration will be in place through 7 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 1.

Detours

  • Westbound on I-70B travelers will be detoured west to the Independent Avenue/Rimrock Avenue intersection, near the Rimrock Marketplace. They may either:
    • Turn right at the intersection and travel east on Independent Avenue; or
    • Use the left-hand lanes of I-70B westbound to make a U-turn and access eastbound I-70. From eastbound I-70B, motorists can access US 6/North Avenue eastbound by following the posted signage.

Traffic Impacts

Traffic on US 6/North Avenue will not be affected. Access to local businesses will be maintained throughout the closure.

There are no width restrictions. Please follow posted speed limits and pay close attention to flaggers' directions.

"We appreciate the public's cooperation with this closure," says CDOT Project Engineer Eric Peterson. "Crews will continue to work as efficiently yet safely as possible on this maintenance project."
