US 24/Cimarron Street I-25 Ramp Closures Rescheduled for Tonight, Thursday Night

COLORADO SPRINGS—Due to high winds last night, the closures initially scheduled for Jan. 10 will be put in place this evening, Jan. 11.

Motorists can expect new traffic configurations early Thursday and Friday mornings.

Note:Construction schedules are subject to change based on weather/unforeseen circumstances.

8 tonight, Wednesday, Jan. 11 through 5 a.m., Thursday, Jan. 12
To support the new traffic alignment of the southbound I-25 on- and off-ramps, a portion of the northbound I-25 off-ramp and westbound US 24:
- Southbound and northbound I-25 off- and on-ramps at US 24/Cimarron Street will be closed.
- There will be a full closure of US 24/Cimarron Street between 8th and Sierra Madre streets.
- Expect double right lane restrictions on northbound I-25 between Nevada Avenue/Tejon and US 24/Cimarron Street.
- There will be a single right lane restriction on southbound I-25 from Bijou Street to Nevada Avenue/Tejon Street.
Nights of Thursday, Jan. 12 and Friday, Jan. 13 (contingency)
To support the traffic switch to the new northbound I-25 off-ramp and realignment of eastbound US 24:
- 9 p.m.: There will be a full closure of northbound I-25, between Tejon Street/Nevada Avenue and Bijou Street for striping and barrier set.
- 8 p.m.: The northbound I-25 on- and off-ramps at US 24/Cimarron Street will be closed.
- 7 p.m.: Expect lane restrictions on the eastbound and westbound lanes of US 24 between 8th Street and I-25
- 9 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 12 (Friday, if needed): There will be a full closure of US 24/Cimarron Street between I-25 and Sierra Madre Street.
- Thursday: The speed limit will be reduced on US 24/Cimarron Street due to temporary transitional asphalt.
- 5 a.m. both days: All lanes will reopen.
