Upcoming closures on C-470, University Boulevard and South Broadway
Closures on University Boulevard under C-470 are necessary to construct piers for bridge widening. Additionally, lanes will be closed on Broadway to refresh pavement markings as well as on C-470 to set temporary barriers in the median and for drilling operations. These closures are a part of the C-470 Express Lanes project.
TRAFFIC IMPACTS
Sunday, Jan. 15
- 7 p.m. to 5 a.m.: Both north and southbound lanes will be closed on South Broadway to refresh pavement markings.
- 10 p.m. to 5:30 a.m.: Westbound right and left lanes will be closed on C-470 to set temporary concrete barriers in the median.
Sunday, Jan. 15 through Tuesday, Jan. 17
- 9 p.m. to 5:30 a.m.:Eastbound left lanes will be closed on C-470 for drilling operations.
Monday, Jan. 16
- 7 p.m. to 5:30 a.m.: North and southbound double lanes will be closed at University for median demolition.
Monday, Jan. 16 and Wednesday, Jan. 18 through Friday, Jan. 20
- 10 p.m. to 5:30 a.m.: Westbound right and left lanes on C-470 will be closed to set temporary median barriers and to restripe.
Tuesday, Jan.17 through Thursday, Jan. 19
- 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. North and southbound double right lanes at University will be closed for potholing.
Tuesday, Jan.17 through Wednesday, Jan. 18
- 10 p.m. to 5:30 a.m.: East and westbound right and left lanes will be closed on C-470 at Broadway to deliver material, set temporary concrete barriers in the median and to restripe. On Wednesday, Jan. 18, motorists should also anticipate crane mobilization over eastbound C-470 at Broadway and westbound C-470 onThursday, Jan. 19.
Thursday, Jan.19 through Saturday, Jan. 21
7 p.m. to 7 a.m. North and southbound double lanes will be closed at University for watertight retaining structure construction.
Please be cautious and watch for signage to guide you through the construction areas. Keep in mind, all work is weather dependent and subject to change.
Over 100,000 motorists currently use this segment of C-470 each day with volumes projected to increase 40 percent by 2035. Construction is projected to be complete in spring 2019.
