Mesa Avenue Bridge Over I-25 Closed Friday through Weekend

January 17, 2017 - Southeastern Colorado/CDOT Region 2 - PUEBLO —The Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) and contractor Flatiron Constructors, Inc. are closing the Mesa Avenue Bridge over Interstate-25 from 9 a.m. Friday, January 20 through 6 a.m. Monday, January 23.

This closure is required for the safe performance of bridge substructure repairs. Detours will be in place.

Westbound motorists on Mesa Avenue will be detoured south onto Santa Fe Avenue, which intersects with Mesa Avenue to the north.

Eastbound motorists wishing to cross the bridge will be detoured south onto Evans Avenue. From Evans Avenue, motorists can turn left onto Northern Avenue, then left onto Santa Fe Avenue, which intersects with Mesa Avenue to the north.

The I-25 Ilex Street to City Center Drive project is the first project of the New Pueblo Freeway: the reconstruction of I-25 between City Center Drive (1st Street) and Ilex Street through downtown Pueblo. Construction includes upgrading a number of bridges south of downtown. The project began in July 2015, and is expected to be completed in 2018.
