Full Overnight Closure Set for Feb. 26-27 on 4th Street (CO 96) in Pueblo
PUEBLO—Motorists who travel 4th Street at nighttime will experience traffic impacts and potential delays from 10 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 26 to 5 a.m. Monday, Feb. 27, when CDOT will close Colorado Highway 96 (4th Street) between Bradford and Erie.
Crews will be working overnight to replace traffic signals at East 4th Street and Chester. A signed detour will be in place routing traffic to 8th Street via Hudson and Santa Fe streets. Pedestrians will be able to cross over the 4th Street Fountain Creek Bridge without interruption.
This work is part of the $10 million CO 96 improvement project, which includes:
- intersection improvements;
- signal replacement;
- resurfacing; and
- bridge rehabilitation.
Work began in July and will improve surface quality, enhance safety and provide improved pedestrian crossings—including upgrading ADA ramps to current standards. The project is scheduled to be complete by the end of 2017.
