Crews Perform Work Along US 285
SOUTH CENTRAL COLORADO—From Tuesday, Dec. 5 through Friday, Dec. 8, crews will complete road work along US Highway (US) 285. Work will begin north of Poncha Springs.
Crews will be removing debris from culverts and ditches, as well as repairing drainage inlets. Most work will take place on the shoulder of the road, but because workers and equipment will be in close proximity to highway traffic, motorists will encounter a speed reduction from 60 mph down to 40 mph.
Travel Impacts
Work will take place from approximately 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Dec. 5-8. Motorists may encounter intermittent lane shifts, closures and brief traffic stops of 15 to 20 minutes.
Travelers are urged to obey speed reductions of 40 mph through the work zone. Motorists should also be aware of signage, flaggers, maintenance workers and heavy equipment on and along the highway.
