Expanded Bustang® Weekend Service Begins Sunday

August 14, 2017 - Denver Metro Colorado/CDOT Region 1 - CDOT adds weekend round trip service to North & South Routes

DENVER – Due to public demand, Bustang®, the Colorado Department of Transportation’s (CDOT) interregional express bus service, begins weekend service along the Front Range on Sunday, Aug. 20.

CDOT is offering two round trips per day on Saturdays and Sundays on both its north and south routes: between Fort Collins and Denver and between Colorado Springs and Denver.  Round trip weekend service already exists on Bustang’s west route between Glenwood Springs and Denver.

“The success of the weekday service are a good indication that there’s a need for more transportation options seven days a week,” says CDOT Director of Transit and Rail Mark Imhoff. “We hope these additional weekend trips will provide an easy, affordable way for new and existing Bustang riders to enjoy the many attractions and other recreational activities that Colorado has to offer.”

CDOT began providing non-stop weekend service in September 2015 between Colorado State University in Fort Collins and Denver Union Station (DUS) for students looking to spend the weekend in Denver. The service, known as RamsRoute, returns for the 2017-2018 school year [KS1] on Friday, Aug. 25, and will depart CSU to DUS at 3:30 p.m. on Fridays and DUS to CSU at 4:00 p.m. on Sundays.

Additionally, effective Monday, Aug. 21, another round trip service will be added to Bustang’s north route weekday service: Fort Collins to Denver at7:15 a.m. and Denver to Fort Collins at 6:45 p.m., Monday through Friday.

Bustang has been connecting major population and employment centers and local transit entities since its launch in July 2015. Operated by Ace Express of Golden, Bustang coaches are climate controlled, equipped with WiFi access, bicycle storage, restrooms, USB outlets, power outlets, comfortable seats, and have wheelchair access.
