Crews to Close US 550, Red Mountain Pass, Morning of Thursday, April 13

SOUTHWEST COLORADO—US Highway 550, Red Mountain Pass, will be closed from 7:30 a.m. to about noon on Thursday, April 13, from mile point (MP) 92 (two miles south of Ouray) to MP 87 (Ironton). Mountain maintenance personnel with the Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) will be testing avalanche control equipment, with crews on the ground and by helicopter. This is a follow-up operation from April 5.
