CO 24 East/Manitou Avenue Work on Overlay Project Scheduled for April 2017
“Based on current weather conditions and temperatures, the project is scheduled to start in the next two weeks,” said CDOT Project Engineer Randy Johnson. “Crews have already begun utility locates on Manitou Avenue near Crystal Park Road and Oak Place. There will be daytime lane restrictions to assure project paving completion by the Memorial Day holiday weekend.”
The project team coordinates schedules with the Westside Avenue Action Plan Project to minimize impacts to the traveling public as much as possible.
In January 2017, the project team completed the drainage work at Garden of the Gods Place and Manitou Avenue and all Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) ramp work on Manitou Avenue. In addition, all work at Site A (Manitou Avenue between Serpentine Drive to US 24 Access Ramp at the Rainbow Falls Bridge) is complete.
