CDOT begins road improvement work on Monday on U.S. 24 in Western Elbert County

April 26, 2017 - Northeastern Colorado/CDOT Region 4 - ELBERT COUNTY – On Monday, May 1, US Highway 24 will be reduced to one lane of traffic in a two-mile stretch starting at mile point 364.6 and working west to mile point 356.7, east of Simla.

The Colorado Department of Transportation and Simon Contractors will start phase one of the repaving project. Upon completion of the paving, new signs and striping will be installed along with a new shoulder embankment. Commuters should expect delays.

Highway Impacts: A 15-minute delay may occur. Hours of operations are expected to be Monday through Friday, 6 a.m. to 6 p.m., with work expected to be completed by June 31.
