The Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) informs the traveling public that Animas Towing Co. will be pulling a crashed vehicle up the embankment about one mile north of Coal Bank Pass on U.S. Highway 550 (mile point 58). The recovery operation is scheduled to take place tomorrow morning, Wednesday, Oct. 12 at 9:30 a.m.

The recovery crew will attempt to keep one lane open at all times, which means travelers will experience brief stops and one-lane alternating traffic guided by flagging personnel.

Motorists are urged to use caution in the area and are advised to watch for heavy equipment, operators, and flaggers directing traffic.

The vehicle, a Ford Fusion, crashed Sunday morning and temporarily closed one lane of U.S. 550.
