Work on I-25 will Include Lane and Ramp Closures Through September

EL PASO COUNTY — The Interstate 25 Overlay and the US 24 Martin Luther King Bypass project is going to include intermittent double lane closures on I-25, as well as various overnight and daytime full-ramp closures for milling and paving throughout September. Daytime closures will occur on weekends only and will have separate notifications in advance.

Ramps that will close at various times throughout the month are the I-25 northbound Exit 139 onto Hwy 24 eastbound ramp, the I-25 southbound Exit 139 onto Hwy 24 eastbound ramp, the Hwy 24 westbound Exit 139 onto I-25 northbound ramp, and the Hwy 24 westbound Exit 139 onto I-25 southbound ramp. The Nevada Avenue southbound and northbound on and off-ramps at Exit 140 to and from I-25 will also be closed at various times throughout the month.

State patrol and traffic control will be utilized for safety during these closures. Detours will be signed during these nightly closures requiring U-turns at the Nevada Avenue Exit 140 and the Circle Drive/Lake Avenue Exit 138.
