TRAFFIC ADVISORY: Upcoming lane and ramp closures of Havana Street and Interstate 70

September 2, 2016 - Denver Metro Colorado/CDOT Region 1 - DENVER COUNTY – Starting on Tuesday, September 6 until Saturday, September 10, motorists can expect lane and ramp closures of Havana Street and parts of Interstate 70.

 Closures are necessary to safely facilitate construction activities for the I-70 over Havana Street Bridge Replacement project. 

Detour routes will be posted. Closures and detours are listed below.

Closure southbound Havana Street, beneath I-70 

  • Tuesday, September 6 from 12:00 a.m. to 7:00 a.m.

To detour around the southbound Havana Street closure, drivers will be directed west on East 47th Avenue to Northfield/East 47th Avenue, south on Central Park Boulevard and east on East 40th Avenue back to Havana Street.

Left turn lane closure westbound I-70 off-ramp at Havana Street 

  • Tuesday, September 6 from 2:00 a.m. to 6:00 a.m. 

Right lane closure eastbound I-70, Havana Street to I-225 

  • Tuesday, September 6 from 7:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. 
  • Wednesday, September 7 from 7:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m.

Closure eastbound I-70 off-ramp and on-ramp at Peoria Street

  • Tuesday, September 6, the off-ramp and on-ramp will close from 7:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. 
  • Wednesday, September 7, the on-ramp will close from 7:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m.

Closure westbound I-70 off-ramp and on-ramp at Peoria Street

  • Wednesday, September 7, the off-ramp will close from 7:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. 
  • Thursday, September 8, the on-ramp will close from 7:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. 

To detour around Peoria Street ramp closures, traffic will be directed to Havana Street exit north to East 47th Avenue back to Peoria Street. On-ramp traffic will be directed to the same detour route in reverse to enter I-70. 

Right lane closure westbound I-70, I-225 to Havana Street

 ·         Wednesday, September 7 from 7:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. 

  • Thursday, September 8 from 7:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. 

Closure eastbound I-70 off-ramp at Havana Street 

  • Thursday, September 8 from 7:00 p.m. until Friday, September 9 at 5:00 a.m. 

Closure westbound I-70 off-ramp at Havana Street

  • Friday, September 9 from 7:00 p.m. until Monday, September 12 at 5:00 a.m. 

To detour around Havana Street ramp closures, I-70 off-ramp traffic will be directed to the Central Park Boulevard exit, south to East 40th Avenue back to Havana Street. 

Right lane closure westbound I-70, Peoria Street to Central Park Boulevard 

  • ·         Friday, September 9 at 10:00 p.m. until Monday, September 12 at 5:00 a.m.
