Delays Tuesday, Sept. 27, on US 550 for Signal Work at Main Avenue and Camino del Rio

DURANGO, CO—Motorists traveling on US Highway 550 in downtown Durango will experience delays at the intersection of Main Avenue and Camino del Rio for much of the day on Tuesday, Sept. 27. The Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) will be repairing the traffic light signal, which was damaged by a large truck earlier this weekend.

Traffic Impacts

From 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., traffic will be reduced to one lane in each direction, (one lane northbound and one lane southbound). Travelers may also expect full road closures with brief delays, but only while heavy equipment is being maneuvered in the intersection, and a new mast arm for the traffic light signal is swung into place by a crane.

Travelers are urged to use caution while driving through the intersection. Motorists are also advised to watch for equipment, workers, flaggers and signage traveling through the work zone.
