TRAFFIC UPDATE: CO Hwy 145 Open – Crews Still Working in the Area

August 23, 2016 - SAN MIGUEL COUNTY - The Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) advises motorists to remain alert while driving along Colorado Highway (CO) 145 just west of Telluride.

The highway is open but motorists will encounter periodic delays while crews continue to remove mud and debris from the roads, ditches, and culverts.

Tyler Carlson, CDOT maintenance foreman said, “This last incident was not quite as significant; that’s because the work that has been done in the area over the past month and a half has really helped us prepare for additional rains. The culverts, which had been previously cleared out by crews, are working well and water is able to more efficiently run through them and under the road.”

CDOT has a ten-man maintenance crew with six pieces of heavy equipment working the area on CO 145 between Telluride and Saw Pit. Motorists can expect intermittent delays while work is being done from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday for the next two weeks.
