I-70 over Havana Street Bridge Replacement Project
DENVER COUNTY — On Monday, August 22, through Saturday, August 27, construction activities continue on the I-70 over Havana Street bridge replacement project.
Lane shifts northbound & southbound Havana Street, beneath I-70
Beginning Monday, August 22, through Saturday, August 27, northbound and southbound Havana Street will experience alternating single lane closures for bridge construction. Closures will be Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and Saturday from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The closure extends from the eastbound I-70 on-ramp to the westbound I-70 on-ramp.
Closure eastbound I-70 on-ramp from Havana Street
Overnight Thursday, August 25, the eastbound I-70 on-ramp from Havana Street will close to all vehicle and pedestrian traffic from 7:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. while crews work on ramp reconstruction.
The eastbound I-70 on-ramp from Havana Street will close for the weekend, August 26 through August 29, to all vehicle and pedestrian traffic for ramp reconstruction. The ramp closure begins Friday at 7:00 p.m. and will remain in place until Monday at 5:00 a.m.
To detour around the eastbound I-70 on-ramp closure from Havana Street, drivers will be directed west on East 40th Avenue to Central Park Boulevard to enter I-70.
Right lane closure eastbound I-70, Central Park Boulevard to Havana Street
To facilitate the ramp reconstruction work, eastbound I-70 from Central Park Boulevard to Havana Street will experience a single right lane closure beginning on Friday, August 26, at 10:00 p.m. The lane will reopen to traffic at 5:00 a.m. on Monday, August 29.
Closure westbound I-70 on-ramp from Havana Street
To safely facilitate bridge reconstruction, the westbound I-70 on-ramp from Havana Street is closed to motorists and pedestrians. To ensure the safety of the traveling public, pedestrians, cyclists and workers, the ramp will remain closed until late December 2016.
This work is weather dependent and the schedule is subject to change.
