Work Scheduled at Two Intersections in Salida
CHAFFEE COUNTY—The Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT)—with the assistance of a geotechnical contractor—will be collecting ground samples at two intersections in Salida next week. The samples and data collected will help determine future replacement of the traffic light signals at both intersections.
On Wednesday, July 20, crews will work at the intersection of Colorado Highway (CO) 291 and F Street. Note: The traffic light will not operate from 8 a.m. - 1 p.m., with flaggers guiding motorists through the intersection. The intersection will remain open in all directions.
Please use caution, especially during the five-hour period in which the traffic light will not be functioning.
Additionally, on Thursday, July 21, crews will collect ground samples at the intersection of US Highway 50 and County Road 111 (Walmart intersection). No traffic impacts are anticipated at this intersection, but again, motorists are encouraged to be mindful of crews working in the area.
