CO 64 near Rangely closed tonight and through tomorrow for safety critical rockfall mitigation

July 20, 2016 - Northwestern Colorado/CDOT Region 3 - RIO BLANCO COUNTY —Crews working on a rock scaling project on Colorado Highway (CO) 64 at mile point 26 have closed the highway to traffic due to concerns about the stability of a large slab of rock. The closure is currently in place and is planned to remain throughout the day tomorrow.

TRAFFIC AND RECREATIONAL IMPACTS: The duration of the closure will be dependent on the removal of debris which will begin again tomorrow morning. During the closure motorists are encouraged to utilize alternate routes which are CO 13 or CO 139 Douglas Pass.
