Glenwood Canyon bike path completely open today

June 20, 2016 - Northwestern Colorado/CDOT Region 3 - EAGLE/GARFIELD COUNTIES – Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) crews were able to perform maintenance and sweeping operations on the section of the Glenwood Canyon bike bath from Shoshone to Hanging Lake that has been closed for several weeks due to runoff.

The path is now completely open from Glenwood Springs to Siloam Springs.

“We were pleased to see, beyond general maintenance and debris removal to get the path open, that there was no structural damage to areas where there has been in the past,” said Adonna McDade-Ward, CDOT Transportation Maintenance Supervisor.

Late last week, crews were able to get the Siloam Springs to Hanging Lake rest area section of the path open as well due to receding water levels.

In order to maintain pathway safety, CDOT reminds cyclists and pedestrians to please obey all warning and closure signs.  Cooperation from all users is greatly appreciated.  To check on status of the bike path please visit www.cotrip.org  and click on the Statewide Alerts tab.  Updates are also available via Twitter @coloradodot and be sure to “Like” our Facebook page at www.facebook.com/coloradodot
