Repair on Four Culverts Underway in the La Junta and Granada Area
May 24, 2016 - Southeastern Colorado/CDOT Region 2 - LA JUNTA, COLO – Work began this week to rehabilitate the following four culverts in the La Junta and Granada area
Culvert Locations:
- US Highway 385 M.M 96.56, north of Granada, CO
- SH 109 M.M. 36.54, south of La Junta near the Purgatoire River
- SH 109 M.M. 63.70, north of La Junta near Cheraw
- SH 96 M.M. 107.5, northwest of La Junta near Sugar City
Work on the culverts is expected to be completed by the end of July. The culverts will be rehabilitated by inserting a plastic liner inside the culvert and pouring grout in the area between the existing and new pipes. CDOT has partnered with American West Construction to do the much needed repairs on the culverts.
Traffic Impacts
The project will have minimal impact to the traveling public and should be limited to reduced speeds, occasional single lane and shoulder closures. All major work will be completed outside of the roadway or on the shoulder.
