I-25 night work resumes tonight between Lincoln Avenue and County Line Road
Once warmer overnight temperatures are consistent in mid-May, the contractor will place new asphalt at the north end of the project, which will result in smoother transitions between the existing asphalt and new concrete placed as part of the I-25 widening project. All paving work is expected to take place overnight.
Motorists may also notice daytime work on highway shoulders and adjacent land as crews perform finishing work and seeding this spring. Daytime lane closures are not anticipated. However, weekend work is also possible as the contractor makes use of good weather days.
Both directions of I-25 are now in their final configuration, adding an additional lane in each direction in northern Douglas County. This is the last section of I-25 to be widened between the Broadway/Santa Fe Drive area in Denver and south Castle Rock. In March, representatives from CDOT, Douglas County, the City of Lone Tree, the Denver Regional Council of Governments, the Federal Highway Administration and prime contractor Interstate Highway Construction gathered to recognize substantial completion of the project.
