Traffic Impacts and Construction Updates for the week of Mar. 17 – Mar. 26
Crews continue to work on bridge foundations and substructure activities in the Glenwood Hot Springs parking lot. Utility work also continues along the west wing street in the 7th street shopping plaza. Businesses are open and ready for spring break so please come support your local shops and restaurants.
Traffic Impacts Exit 116 (Main Glenwood to Aspen exit)
1) Beginning Friday, Mar. 18th 6 p.m. to Mar. 26th both the eastbound on-ramp and off-ramp will be in a one-lane configuration. The one lane configuration begins approaching the exit ramps in both directions under I-70.
2) Beginning, Monday, Mar. 21st to Friday, Mar. 26th, the I-70 eastbound on-ramp will be closed.
I-70 Eastbound Closure at Exit 116
On Wednesday, Mar. 23rd, 12 a.m. - 4 a.m. I-70 will be closed for all eastbound traffic at Exit 116. Motorists should exit early at the west Glenwood exit 114 for travel to Aspen on SH82. No access to the Glenwood Canyon during this closure.
River Street

Interstate 70 east and westbound Exit 116
Eastbound and westbound at Exit 116 will be reduced to one-lane traffic. This will be the condition throughout Phase II. Speed limit reduced to 40 mph in this area.
7th St. from Colorado Avenue to Cooper Avenue will be closed until further notice. Pedestrian access will be maintained on the south sidewalk. Please come downtown and check out all the action.
Recreational Impacts
Two Rivers Pedestrian Bridge
The Two Rivers park pedestrian bridge that spans the Colorado River will be closed from Monday. Mar. 21st to Monday. Mar 28th. This closure is necessary for the Glenwood Hot Springs storm drain extension project.
Glenwood Trail Closure at Two Rivers Park
The Glenwood Trail crossing at Two Rivers Park and I-70 Exit 116 is closed for approximately 4 weeks. Crews are working on a utility project in the area.
