Eastbound C-470 ramp to southbound I-25 closed for the weekend
This work is part of Phase 5 of the I-25 widening project, which reconstructs the west side of I-25 from Lincoln Avenue to County Line Road. All work is weather permitting.
Starting at 10 p.m. on Friday, a signed detour route will be provided for the weekend full closure of the eastbound C-470 ramp to southbound I-25. To detour around this closure, eastbound C-470 traffic will exit onto northbound I-25, use the off-ramp at Dry Creek Road (exit 196), turn left (west) on Dry Creek Road, turn left (south) onto southbound I-25, and continue south through the C-470 / E-470 interchange. The westbound E-470 ramp to southbound I-25 will remain open during the C-470 ramp closure. Visit www.codot.gov/projects/
Night lane closures will occur this week in order to move both northbound and southbound I-25 into a new configuration. By Wednesday, November 25, CDOT anticipates having four lanes available on northbound I-25 through the project, weather permitting.
Background:
The I-25 Widening Project will add an additional lane in each direction on I-25 from Lincoln Avenue to County Line Road, resulting in four lanes in each direction south of the C-470 / E-470 interchange. In addition to expanding capacity on I-25, crews will replace existing asphalt with concrete to better match the I-25 corridor. This project will improve the traffic patterns from and to all affected ramps as well as provide new pedestrian connections. Funded by CDOT, Douglas County, City of Lone Tree and the Denver Regional Council of Governments (DRCOG), this $32 million project is ahead of schedule with anticipated substantial completion in December 2015.
