Douglas County and the Colorado Department of Transportation Hosting Open House and Online Meeting Tonight

November 19, 2015 - Central/Eastern Colorado/CDOT Region 1 - Residents can learn more about two US 85 Corridor studies now underway.

DOUGLAS COUNTY – Douglas County and the Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) are hosting an open house meeting tonight to discuss two important studies of US 85 between C-470 and State Highway 67 in Sedalia.

The open house will take place from 5-8 p.m. at the Valley View Christian Church, 11004 Wildfield Lane, in unincorporated Douglas County. Valley View Christian Church is north of Titan Road and east of U.S. 85. The open house will include short overview presentations at 5:30, 6:30 and 7:30 p.m., information boards about each study and the chance to ask questions of county and CDOT representatives.

Citizens and taxpayers are also invited to participate in an online meeting by visiting the project website at US85DouglasCounty.com. Project information, presentation materials and convenient link to submit comments can be found on the site.

As additional residential and commercial growth occurs in the northwest portion of the county, further studies are needed to identify what transportation improvements are necessary to support the development.

The two studies are separate but will be closely coordinated at each step in the process to allow citizen and stakeholder input. Ideally, these efforts will assist the County and other agencies in identifying issues of importance in order to implement the highest-priority near-term improvements as soon as possible.
