I-25/Fillmore Street Closures Postponed

COLORADO SPRINGS – The lane and road closures at the Interstate 25/Fillmore Interchange are being rescheduled after machinery broke down last night.

Bridge demolition and other construction activities will get underway tonight and continue into next week.  All lane and/or road closures take place from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. on these dates:  

Wednesday, Sept. 9, to Thursday, Sept. 10

Full closure of eastbound and westbound Fillmore Street between Chestnut Street and Sinton Road.  Eastbound Fillmore traffic will be shifted to the new bridge along with the northbound I-25 ramp turn-bay.

Thursday, Sept. 10, to Friday, Sept. 11/Sunday, Sept. 13, to Monday, Sept. 14/Monday, Sept. 14, to Tuesday, Sept. 15

I-25 will be closed at Fillmore Street and Fillmore Street will be closed over I-25, between the northbound and southbound ramps. 

Tuesday, Sept. 15, to Wednesday, Sept. 16/Wednesday, Sept. 16, to Thursday, Sept. 17

Intermittent double lane closures on northbound and/or southbound I-25.

DETOURS WHEN I-25 AND/OR FILLMORE STREET ARE CLOSED

FROM EASTBOUND FILLMORE TO NORTHBOUND I-25 OR FILLMORE EAST OF I-25: South on I-25 from Fillmore to Fontanero Street, turn around and re-enter northbound I-25, where drivers can access eastbound Fillmore or continue north on I-25.

FROM WESTBOUND FILLMORE TO SOUTHBOUND I-25 OR FILLMORE WEST OF I-25: North on I-25 to Garden of the Gods Road,  turn around and re-enter southbound I-25, where drivers can access westbound Fillmore or continue south on I-25. 

The demolition work is part of a Colorado Department of Transportation interchange reconstruction project.  Completion is scheduled for summer 2016.
