September 25, 2015 - Denver Metro/CDOT Region 1 - CDOT will implement a 24-hour single lane closure on eastbound I-70 at Kipling Street starting at 8 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 25 through 12 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 27.

DENVER—In order to waterproof and pave the eastbound I-70 bridge over Kipling Street, the Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) will implement a 24-hour single lane closure on eastbound I-70 at Kipling Street starting at 8 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 25 through 12 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 27. There will be a double lane closure on eastbound I-70 from 10 p.m. to 8 a.m. both Friday and Saturday nights.

"We understand that this work will have impacts on motorists this weekend, but we're working hard to get these important repairs complete before winter weather arrives," said Paul Jesaitis, CDOT Region 1 Transportation Director. "It our responsibility to ensure the safety of the traveling public and we must address our aging infrastructure in order to do so."

This bridge repair is part of a larger $1.9 million project that repairs three structures total: I-70 and Kipling Street, I-70 and 32nd Avenue, and I-76 and York Street. The I-70 and Kipling Street bridge repair will be complete by the end of October 2015.
