SH 13 Nine Mile Hill resurfacing project to begin next week
RIO BLANCO/MOFFAT COUNTIES — The Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) will begin work on Monday, Aug. 10 on the second phase of this resurfacing project. This work will take place in Rio Blanco County, North of Meeker, from milepost 50.77 to 56.0.
Since the first phase began May 26, crews have made significant progress on the project, which will result in a smoother ride for travelers. Recent achievements include the completed resurfacing of SH 13 from milepost 104 to 111 in Moffat County, as well as guardrail repair and replacement in these areas.
The work will rehabilitate and preserve the pavement and provide improved ride quality for motorists. The project was awarded last May to Elam Construction, Inc and is scheduled to be complete by Oct. 2, 2015.
TRAVEL IMPACTS: Working hours are Monday through Friday, 6:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. Speed limits will be reduced to 35 mph through the construction zone. There are no restrictions for oversize vehicles for this project. Motorists can expect intermittent alternating lane closures in both lanes of the highway. Flaggers will be present to guide traffic.
