Lane Closures on I-25 Planned for Next Several Weeks

July 30, 2015 - Denver Metro/CDOT Region 1 - Bridge work on southbound I-25 between US 36 and 58th Avenue requires restrictions.

DENVER, CO – The Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) announced today that drivers should expect multiple nightly lane closures starting this week on southbound I-25 between US 36 and 58th Avenue for bridge maintenance.

The restrictions, from 8 p.m. to 5:30 a.m., will include single and double lane closures. Double lane closures could begin at 10 p.m., and while one lane of traffic will remain open, the restrictions may cause delays. Motorists should allow additional time for travel in the area. Intermittent nightly closures are expected to continue for 14 to 20 days.

“I-25 is one of our busiest highways, and we know lane restrictions can cause impacts to drivers,” said Paul Jesaitis, CDOT Region 1 Transportation Director. “However, this work is critical for safety and maintaining our bridges, and we will do all we can to get the lanes open as quickly as possible.”

Upon completion of the work on the southbound bridges, construction will begin on northbound I-25 at the Union Pacific Railroad bridge between 58th Avenue and I-76. This work may require three-lane restrictions.
