CDOT begins road improvement work on SH 348, SH 90 and SH 50 next week

July 17, 2015 - Northwestern Colorado/CDOT Region 3 - MONTROSE/DELTA COUNTIES- The Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) and United Companies will start work the week of June 26 on road improvements throughout Montrose and Delta Counties as part of a Federal Aid project.

Improvements will include asphalt patching, chip seal resurfacing, and epoxy and thermoplastic pavement marking. Repair and improvement to aged, damaged road surfaces will greatly improve safety, flow and efficiency for travelers throughout the corridor. Barring any weather delays, the project is expected to last 45 working days (June 26 – August 14, 2015), with minimal traffic impedance. Message boards will be placed at each location during the construction process to keep residents and commuters aware of project progression. Boards will be updated on a regular basis.

“The goal of this project is to make some much needed improvements to the driving surface for residents and visitors of Montrose and Delta Counties,” said Jim Hatheway, CDOT Consultant Project Engineer. “Although this is a relatively short-term project, it will have some long-term positive impacts for the community.”
