I-25/Cimarron Interchange Project Kicks Off with Open House
Colorado Springs – The Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) is hosting an open house tomorrow regarding the upcoming Interstate 25/Cimarron Street Interchange Project.
It will be held on Tuesday, May 26, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the City Auditorium, 221 E. Kiowa Street. A short, formal presentation begins at 5:30 p.m., followed by an informal open house with information stations and an opportunity for the public to meet and ask questions of the project team.
Information stations will cover these topics:
- Project overview and schedule milestones
- Project aesthetics
- Traffic management
- Park/trail/stream improvements
- New connection between Cimarron and 8th streets
Arrangements for special ADA open house accommodations can be made by calling 719-302-6781 or by email at [email protected]
“When complete, this will be a high-functioning interchange that safely handles more vehicles and enhances multi-modal travel for those using I-25, U.S. 24/Cimarron Street and the trail system along Monument and Fountain creeks,” said CDOT Resident Engineer Dave Watt.
“The open house is an opportunity for the public to review construction details, project schedule and traffic management,” added Watt. “It’ll also provide a chance for a review of the planned aesthetic enhancements and to give us feedback regarding possible detours during the work planned along the trails and creek connections.”
