April 29, 2015 - Northwestern Colorado/CDOT Region 3 - ROUTT COUNTY-Beginning the week of May 4, the Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) and contractor partner, ABCO Contracting Company Inc., will start a bridge rehabilitation project on SH 131 over the Yampa River.

The relatively short (500 feet) work zone is located south of Routt County Road 15 near mile post 47.7 in Phippsburg. Crews will perform deck repairs, waterproofing, joint replacement and paving.

IMPACTS: Construction activity will occur from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday. Limited night or weekend work may be necessary. The project will require single lane alternating traffic through the work zone. A temporary traffic signal system will be installed and operational 24 hours, 7 days a week until the work is complete. Speed limits will be reduced and only minor delays are expected. CDOT would like to remind motorists to Slow for the Cone Zone. Fines will be doubled within the work zone.

This $1 million project also includes similar bridge rehabilitation work on US 6 (I-70 Frontage Road) over the Union Pacific Railroad in Dotsero. The entire project is anticipated to be complete this summer. The SH 131 work should be complete in June 2015.
