Northbound I-25 County Line Road off-ramp night closures on March 8, 9 and 10
Crews expect to have the ramp open by 5:30 a.m. each morning – in time for the morning commute. A full closure has been determined to be the least-impactful way to perform the work in the shortest amount of time. This work is part of the I-25 Widening Project, which is currently in Phase 2. In general, Phase 2 widens the east side of I-25 from Lincoln Avenue to County Line Road. During this phase, the County Line Road off-ramp is being widened to provide two lanes up to the Regional Transportation District (RTD) County Line Station Park-n-Ride lot.
Starting at 10 p.m. on Sunday, March 8, the following signed detour route will be provided for the night closures: pass the County Line Road exit; exit at Dry Creek Road; turn left (west) on Dry Creek Road; turn left (south) onto southbound I-25; and exit at County Line Road. Visit www.codot.gov/projects/
The northbound I-25 County Line Road off-ramp driveway into the RTD County Line Station Park-n-Ride lot will not be available during the ramp closure. RTD patrons will need to enter the lot on the east side (S. Valley Highway) from 10 p.m. to 5:30 a.m. The S. Valley Highway driveway can be accessed by following the signed project detour to the southbound I-25 County Line Road exit, turning left (east) on County Line Road, continuing on Inverness Parkway and turning right (west) on S. Valley Highway. RTD traffic will be able to exit the Park-n-Ride lot on the west side (off-ramp) since the active work zone is south of the driveway.
March 2015 will be a busy month for the I-25 Widening Project with many planned closures and traffic shifts. The latest closure information is available on the project website under Travel Advisory on the main page; more detailed information is provided on the ‘Traffic Impacts and Detours’ page.
The I-25 Widening Project will add an additional lane in each direction on I-25 from Lincoln Avenue to County Line Road, resulting in four lanes in each direction south of the C-470 / E-470 interchange. In addition to expanding capacity on I-25, crews will replace existing asphalt with concrete to better match the I-25 corridor. This project will improve the traffic patterns from and to all affected ramps as well as provide new pedestrian connections. Funded by CDOT, Douglas County, City of Lone Tree and the Denver Regional Council of Governments (DRCOG), this $32 million project will be completed no later than June 2016.
