Irrigation pipe demolition on SH 50 is postponed

November 11, 2014 - TRAFFIC ADVISORY UPDATE - Northwestern Colorado/CDOT Region 3 - Demolition was scheduled for Thursday, November 13.

MONTROSE COUNTY- A full closure of SH 50 at mile marker 107.3 is postponed until further notice.  A sub-contractor did not meet OSHA requirements as specified in the scope of the project.

The demolition will be rescheduled once the safety specifications are met.  The removal of the irrigation pipe will allow CDOT the ability to add highway lane width and shoulders, without the guardrail system, therefore creating a safer roadway for the traveling public.  This project will also include a 60 inch siphon system that will allow for the removal of the overhead structure and removes the US 50 height restrictions.
