Highway 115 Intersection Closed for Paving Tomorrow
November 21, 2014 - Southeastern Colorado/CDOT Region 2 - Cañon City – The Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) will close the south side of the Royal Gorge Boulevard (U.S. 50)/South 9th Street (State Highway 115) intersection tomorrow for paving operations.
Beginning at about 7 a.m. on Saturday, November 22, all traffic will be detoured around the closure points via Vine and South 11th streets, allowing approximately 300 feet of Highway 115 to be paved and striped, just south of Highway 50. The Colorado State Patrol will be on hand to assist with traffic control and detour routing.
All lanes will remain open except the southbound turn lanes on eastbound and westbound Royal Gorge Boulevard.
9th Street is expected to reopen to traffic around 4 p.m.
CDOT is closing this short segment of Highway 115 on a Saturday to reduce traffic impacts and accelerate the work schedule while temperatures remain favorable for asphalt paving.
