Full closure of US 50 scheduled for next Tuesday

November 19, 2014 - TRAFFIC ADVISORY - Northwestern Colorado/CDOT Region 3 - Irrigation pipe demolition to cause delays.

MONTROSE COUNTY- On Tuesday, November 25 crews will implement a full closure of US 50 both eastbound and westbound at mile marker 107.3 in order to safely remove an irrigation pipe that spans the highway. Weather permitting, the closure will be from 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.

The removal of the irrigation pipe will allow CDOT the ability to add highway lane width and shoulders therefore creating a safer roadway for the traveling public.  This project will also include a 60 inch siphon system that will allow for the removal of the overhead structure and removes the height restrictions on US 50.

ALTERNATE ROUTE: An alternate route for motorists would be north on SH 92 to Hotchkiss.
