Full Closure of SH 50 Scheduled for Next Week
MONTROSE COUNTY- On Thursday, November 13 crews will implement a full closure of SH 50 both eastbound and westbound at mile marker 107.3 in order to safely remove an irrigation pipe that spans the highway. Weather permitting, the closure will be from 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
The removal of the irrigation pipe will allow CDOT the ability to add highway lane width and shoulders, without the guardrail system, therefore creating a safer roadway for the traveling public. This project will also include a 60 inch siphon system that will allow for the removal of the overhead structure and removes the US 50 height restrictions.
ALTERNATE ROUTE: An alternate route for motorists would be north on SH 92 to Hotchkiss.
