CDOT Hosting Spotlight Event for Major Upcoming Projects on October 22

October 17, 2014 - Denver Metro Colorado/CDOT Region 1 - Opportunity for local businesses to learn about future opportunities.

DENVER– The Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) is hosting highway transportation contractors, local, small and disadvantaged businesses, and industry stakeholders for an informational and networking session on Wednesday, October 22, 2014 as CDOT prepares to begin work on two large upcoming projects: I-70 East and C-470.

The event will be held at the Colorado Convention Center in Denver from 4:00pm – 7:30pm. CDOT will present an overview of both projects and a vision for Disadvantage Business Enterprises (DBE) goal setting and workforce development. This will be followed by a prime contractor and small business panel discussion focusing on best practices on how to engage local businesses on large projects with meaningful and high value work.  This interactive event also will include a meet and greet session where small businesses can network and learn more about future opportunities.

“The improvements planned for I-70 East and C-470 will ultimately change the face of transportation in the Denver metro area,” said CDOT Executive Director Don Hunt. “These same projects also have the potential to impact the landscape of small and local businesses.  We want to provide every opportunity for businesses of all sizes to be a part of this success.   This event is the first step of many as we bring these projects closer to construction.”

CDOT anticipates a well-attended event including hundreds of representatives from small businesses, prime contractors and supportive services. Limited space is available and interested participants are encouraged to RSVP online at www.tinyurl.com/i-70east. Questions about the event should be directed to the Connect2DOT Program at (720) 624-6748 or [email protected].
