Rockfall Mitigation Starting on US 6 near SH 119

September 24, 2014 - Denver Metro Colorado/CDOT Region 1 - DENVER – In an effort to prevent the risk of rockfall and increase the safety of the traveling public, the Colorado Department of Transportation has commenced rockfall mitigation work on US 6 starting at SH 119 through mile marker 271 near Golden.

This project is anticipated to be complete in early 2015.

Anticipated Travel Impacts for Motorists & Cyclists: Beginning now through early 2015, the project will require full road closures on US 6 between mile markers 260.5 to 271 Mondays through Fridays between the hours of 10 p.m. to 8 a.m. Traffic may be halted to a full stop for up to 20 minutes and motorists are encouraged to detour using I-70 instead of using US 6 during working hours.
