SH 145 Cortez to Dolores – Paving Will Continue to Mid-September
Crews have begun paving the stretch of SH 145 south of Cortez (about MP 2) to the Dolores River Bridge (MP 9.4). The resurfacing will involve two layers of asphalt (there will be two full passes of the paving truck on each lane). The contractor has set an amended completion date of mid-September.
PROJECT DETAILS: The project, contracted to Skanska for $5.7 million, began in late March and is scheduled for completion by late August 2014. The work will accomplish the following: resurface the roadway, providing a leveling course to smooth the surface and correct rough roadway; patch and improve drainage in damaged areas; rehabilitate the bridge deck, including weather-proofing and new bridge rail; correct the curve at CR P; and install ADA ramps at sidewalks on SH 145 in Cortez.
TRAVEL IMPACTS: Through mid-September, motorists can expect single-lane, alternating traffic, between 7 a.m. and 5:30 p.m., reduced speeds and delays of up to 15 minutes, depending upon traffic volumes. Motorists are encouraged to review CDOT’s lane closure reports online at http://www.coloradodot.info/travel/scheduled-lane-closures.html.
